<LI>The design process is started with exploring the algorithm in MATLAB Script. </LI>
<LI>The part M1 in the design "MapperWithOverride" was initially configured to use MATLAB_Script model. </LI>
<LI>The mapper's QAM_64 table was tuned with proper values and the functionality is verified as shown in the graph "MapperWithOverride_Const". </LI>
<LI>A&nbsp;Configuration "MATLAB_Script" is added to the Configurations tab of the design.</LI>
<LI>Two parts "M1" and "F1" are added to the configuration. M1 is <SPAN style="LINE-HEIGHT: 115%; FONT-FAMILY: 'Times New Roman','serif'; FONT-SIZE: 12pt; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA">configured </SPAN>with&nbsp;<EM>MATLAB_Script @ Data&nbsp;Flow Models</EM> and F1 is configured with <EM>Gain @ Data Flow Models.</EM></LI></OL>
<P>Note: The QAM_64 table values are calculated in the equation&nbsp;"QAM_64_Table" in the workspace tree.</P>

<P><STRONG>Stage 2:</STRONG></P>

<LI>The second stage involves tuning the fixed point precision of the model. </LI>
<LI>A fixed point subnetwork "FixedPointMapper"&nbsp;using fixed point parts from Hardware Design library is used for this purpose.&nbsp; </LI>
<LI>Instead of creating a separate design to test this subnetwork model, the model is added to the manage model list of part <EM>M1</EM>. Also, a model <EM>FloatToFxp @ Fxp Models</EM> is added to the&nbsp;manage model list of the part <EM>F1</EM> to convert data from floating point to fixed point.</LI>
<LI>A configuration "FixedPoint" is added to the Configurations tab with part <EM>M1</EM> using <EM>FixedPointMapper</EM> and part F1 using <EM>FloatToFxp @ Fxp Models</EM>. </LI>
<LI>The simulation is performed by selecting&nbsp;FixedPoint configuration&nbsp;in data flow analysis <EM>MapperWithConfigurations Analysis.</EM>&nbsp;Fixed point precision is optimized for the mapper at this stage. </LI></OL>
<P><STRONG>Note: We can use SystemVue to generate VHDL/Verilog for mapper at stage 2&nbsp;and completes our implementation without continuing to the next stage</STRONG></P>

<P><STRONG>Stage 3:</STRONG></P>

<LI>A C++ implementation of the mapper was developed <SPAN style="LINE-HEIGHT: 115%; FONT-FAMILY: 'Times New Roman','serif'; FONT-SIZE: 12pt; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA">targeting </SPAN>Catapult C from Mentor Graphics using ac_int data types. The source code is available under the directory "<EM>source"</EM> in the files mapper.cpp and mapper.h. These files are then used&nbsp; inside Catapult to generate combinational Verilog/VHDL for the mapper and to generate SystemVue model using SystemVue Flow inside Catapult. The generated rtl is located under HDLSource. The SystemVue Flow was set to use output directory &lt;any path&gt;/SystemVueFlow. For this example you can directly load SystemVueFlow\Release-SystemVue-Win32\Mapper.dll or SystemVueFlow\Release-SystemVue-Win64\Mapper.dll based on the bitness of&nbsp;SystemVue.</LI>
<LI>The SystemVue model generated from Catapult is compiled in Visual Studio and then the resulting&nbsp;dll is loaded inside SystemVue.</LI>
<LI>The model is added to the manage model list of part <EM>M1</EM></LI>
<LI>A configuration "Catapult" is added to the Configurations tab with M1 configured with SystemVue model generated from Catapult-SystemVue Flow</LI>
